Overview

ListMate is designed to work without a company server. Your lists, items, and recipes are stored in your own iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit, and are only shared with other people when you explicitly invite them to a list. We — the developer of ListMate — never receive, see, or store your data ourselves.

What’s Stored, and Where

Your grocery lists, list items, and recipes are stored in your private iCloud database, protected by your Apple ID. This data syncs across your own devices via CloudKit and is not accessible to us. A small amount of data is also saved locally on your device (in an app group) so the ListMate widget can display it.

Shared Lists

If you share a list, CloudKit exchanges the minimum information needed to make sharing work — such as the participants’ names or email addresses tied to their Apple IDs — directly between the people on that list, through Apple’s infrastructure. We don’t have access to this information.

Notifications

ListMate uses push notifications, via Apple, solely to let your devices know when a shared list has changed, so it can sync. No notification content passes through our servers, because we don’t operate any.

Purchases

Premium features are purchased through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple; ListMate never sees or stores your payment information.

Photos

If you add a photo to a recipe, you choose it using the system photo picker, which only gives ListMate the specific photo you select — never access to your full photo library.

Tracking and Analytics

ListMate does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Your Choices

You can delete your data at any time from Settings by tapping "Delete Account Data," which permanently removes the lists and recipes you own from iCloud. Because everything lives in your iCloud account, you can also manage or remove ListMate’s data through your device’s iCloud storage settings.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, an updated version will be included in a future app update with a new "last updated" date above.
